| 概要 | Rwanda's economy is currently dominated by subsistence agriculture, but a recent program instituted by the World Bank has shown that such economies benefit from improvements in technological infrastru...tures. The program prepared methodologies, policies and detailed action plans that supported the growth of capacity in science, technology and innovation (STI) directed at the practical needs of subsistence farmers rather than in growing a technology industry per se. At the same time, the program considered measures that would address the United Nations' goals for the reduction of poverty. Specifically, the STI program addressed the Rwandan food processing industry, including the improvement of transport and research, creation of value-added exports, development and diffusion of technologies supporting farming and other immediate needs, delivery of clean drinking water, the development geothermal energy, and development of farmer-based agricultural research.
