| 概要 | As the European Union's integration movement continues, are regional economies moving closer together, or are new geographical differences and inequalities emerging? In this research Dunford (economic...geography, U. of Sussex) and Greco (sociology of economics, U. of Bari) work toward an answer by using significant primary data as well as the literature to develop a new political economy approach to the analysis of the territorial division of labor. In doing so they explain Italy's regional inequalities, provide details on labor trends, and develop a critique of neoliberal theories of convergence and spatial development that lead to revitalized political economy approaches to territorial development. Their case studies include recent changes in the Italian motor vehicle and chemical industries.
