| 概要 | This volume is the product of the International Conference on Cohesive Sediment Transport (INTERCOH 2003) held at the Virginia Institute of Marine Science, U.S.A., during October 1-4, 2003. The topics...included in this monograph ranging from basic research on cohesive sediment dynamics (e.g., laboratory and in-situ observations of floc size and density, an attempt to unify the erosion formula, effects on the sediment bed from selected erosion measurement devices, arguments on the basic deposition process, and simplifications on the governing equation for settling and self-weight consolidation) to practical applications (e.g., simulation of turbidity maxima in estuaries, transport of cohesive sediment during dredging, estimation of mud rheological properties, application of a remote sensing technique to check large scale seasonal variability of suspended sediment transport, and utilization of the artificial neural network to predict sedimentation rate). At the end of this book, a database that contains all experimental results as well as a comparison of numerical simulation results supported by the COSINUS project is available for general uses.
