概要	This World Bank report reviews and assesses recent experience with budget support as a form of development aid, defined as "financial assistance that supports a medium-term program and is provided dir...ctly to a recipient country's budget on a regular basis, using the country's own financial management systems and budget procedures." After an introductory overview of budget support, the report summarizes recent evaluations of the practice by the World Bang, the European Commission, OECD, USAID, and the Overseas Development Institute. It then discusses the alignment of budget support with country programs. Questions of predictability are considered, followed exploration of the issue of donor coordination and conditionality. The cases of Uganda, Mozambique, Afghanistan, and South Asia are reviewed and the perspectives of a range of donor countries are presented.
