| 概要 | Written for graduate students already versed in physical concepts of fluid dynamics, this textbook provides a theoretical treatment of the topic, with due emphasis on the physical interpretation of de...ived results. After presenting the foundations in a form free from any coordinate system, the author follows with a chapter on the technique of writing Navier-Stokes equations and Euler's equations in general steady and nonsteady curvilinear coordinates, as well as the essential aspects of vorticity and stream functions. Inviscid incompressible and compressible flows are then examined as a prelude to viscous flows. The penultimate chapter explores the exact solutions of the Navier-stokes equations, classical and modern boundary layer theory, and incompressible and compressible forms of the Navier-Stokes formulations. Finally, the text concludes with coverage of the stability problem of the laminar flows and the development of both the time and mass-weighted averaged Navier-Stokes and the associated turbulence equations.
