| 概要 | One of the most important voices in American landscape architecture, Peter Walker has created a variety of significant landscapes worldwide, including joint projects with architects I. M. Pei, Norman ...oster, and Renzo Piano. Peter Walker and Partners/Nasher Sculpture Center Garden examines one of his most recent gardens in Dallas, Texas, a set of outdoor galleries showcasing the Nasher collection of modern and contemporary sculpture. A museum without a roof, the garden, with its subtle balance of art and nature, is an innovative urban park, whose ordered spaces complement Renzo Piano's design for the building. Informative sketches, drawings, and plans, along with photographs of the final design, document the project from its conception to construction. The book also features an insightful interview with the landscape architect as well as an essay by Peter Reed and a foreword by Steven Nash. Source Books in Landscape Architecture are a product of the Herb and DeeDee Glimcher Distinguished Visiting Professorship at the Knowlton School of Architecture. Designed as a series of discussion-based seminars, the program invites Glimcher professors to present their work in a three-part framework: influences and process, important works, and a focus on a single project or series that serve as the subject for a Source Book monograph. The Glimcher professorship and publications offer direct access to leading voices in the profession and promote critical inquiry in contemporary designed landscapes by examining intentionality and results of selected works.
