| 概要 | Arestis and Sawyer (both affiliated with the Levy Economics Institute) are critical of today's "new consensus" in macroeconomic policy, in which fiscal policy has been downgraded in favor of monetary ...olicy that encourages the independence of central banks and the targeting of inflation. They suggest that the theories underlying this state of affairs is flawed, especially in its treatment of the stock of money. They consider the proper role of monetary policy when money is treated as endogenous, or created within the banking system. They also argue for the effectiveness of discretionary fiscal policy.
