| 概要 | According to a 2002 estimate by the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR), 1 out of every 150 people in the world are currently displaced from their homes in some way: as refugees, asy...um seekers, returned refugees, or internally displaced persons. Of all the humanitarian impulses in world polities today, one of the most widely recognized is the need to protect these refugees. However, as Problems of Protection explores, the process of refugee protection is one that is complex and controversial, and always more political than humanitarian.
