概要 | Although, in the current context of post-Soviet Georgia, the very term "legal profession" presents a number of definitional and institutional difficulties, Waters (law, U. of Reading, UK) uses a Weber...an analysis to argue that a segment of Georgian lawyers have bee pursuing market control and upward collective mobility that, while different from Western models, can be seen as a form of professionalization. After describing historical and current contexts, he presents the results of fieldwork investigating legal education, and access to the profession; the politics of regulation, self-regulation, and market control; and stratification and collective mobility.
