| 概要 | Balding (statistical genetics, Imperial College, London) offers a textbook to help forensic scientists charged with presenting DNA evidence in court with preparing statements that are fair, clear, and...helpful to courts; and to respond to questioning by judges and lawyers. He introduces the weight-of-evidence theory, first informally then more formally using likelihood ratios. Throughout, he assumes the context of US, British, and Commonwealth legal systems in which guilt or innocence is decided by lay juries, but says the principles can be applied to any legal system.
