| 概要 | Baker rightly anticipated the day when research on iteration theory (augmented by study of French mathematicians Fatou and Julia) would be supported by computer graphics. He taught at the U. of Albert... initially but dedicated nearly four decades to mathematics at Imperial College London. Baker's work in transcendental meromorphic functions was both pioneering and legendary, and his influence in that and related fields has moved friends, colleagues and former students to produce both survey articles and new results, making this both a satisfying and lively tribute. Topics include conformal automorphisms of finitely connected regions, meromophic functions with two completely invariant domains, residual Julia sets of rational and transcendental functions, generalizations of uniformly normal families, fractal measures and ergodic theory of transcendental meromorphic functions, and, of course, Baker domains.
