| 概要 | A recent severe increase in demand for female migrant workers prompted Oishi (sociology, International Christian University, Tokyo) to study the international migration of women. Her ethnographic fiel...work in 10 Asian countries is collected for scholars and policy makers in order to better understand the plight of these women. Oishi analyzes female migration in terms of economic development, value-driven policies, gender politics, autonomy, and social factors. She also includes a chapter that presents experiences of individual female migrants.
