The review process was rigorous for this year's conference, and the number of posters increased. (For those who monitor such things, the cost of the proceedings is up by about $100, and the number of pages down by several hundred in comparison with the 2001 conference proceedings, which also included a CD-ROM.) Discussion encompasses various aspects of illumination- and appearance-based matching, motion and layers, tracking, shape recognition, segmentation and medical image analysis, 3-D reconstruction, learning and statistical methods, illumination and image restoration, face detection and recognition, learning and statistical methods, robot localization and navigation, segmentation and perceptual organization, reflectance modeling, fingerprint recognition, image and video retrieval, texture, and image restoration and inpainting. There is no subject index.
