概要 |
Two waves of Mexican immigrants, one in the 1920s, and one since the 1980s, came to the Midwest to find jobs in the meatpacking industry. This study describes the Mexican-origin community of Omaha, Ne...raska, assesses its members' fate in light of the regional economy, and compares their experiences with those of other immigrant and ethnic groups in the city. It draws on historical records, census analysis, and scholarly research. Interviews record the voices of individual respondents; bandw photos (poor quality) provide a sense of place. Lopez teaches sociology at California State University. c. Book News Inc.続きを見る
