概要 Focusing on the "nukespeak" discourse in Pakistan and India, the author starts with a critique of neorealist and opposing theoretical criteria used in the study of Third World security issues. Then th... emergence of the nuclear issue in these newest nuclear powers is traced and updated by a survey of the current rhetoric, including dissident voices (e.g. Arundhati Roy speaking of nuclear "meat hooks" in the national brains of these adversaries). He concludes that Indian and Pakistani hawks are "siblings of the same theory," namely, a so-called political realism that takes as objectively true their respective analyses of strategic situations. Though his journal articles are listed in the bibliography, Nizamani's affiliation is not stated. Annotation c. Book News, Inc., Portland, OR (booknews.com)続きを見る
