| 概要 | Shavarini (child development, Tufts U.) reports findings from a qualitative study from the late 1990s of 30 Iranian undergraduate students in New England and New York, exploring the factors contributi...g to the students' educational outlooks. The research considers the diversity within the community, incorporating discussion of four of the eight religious-ethnic groups found among Iranians. The study was completed and submitted as the author's doctoral dissertation (education, Harvard) just three months before September 11, 2001; in the introduction, Shavarini discusses the impact of 9/11 on Iranian- Americans based on recent informal surveying, and speculates how a similar study today might yield different results.
