概要 As the UKs only charity concerned with both mental illness and learning disabilities, the Mental Health Foundation plays a vital role in pioneering new approaches to prevention, treatment and care. Th... Foundations work includes allocating grants for research and community projects, contributing to public debate, educating and influencing policy-makers and health care professionals and striving to reduce the stigma attached to mental illness and learning disabilities. In this book, the Foundation has gathered together the work of specialists in the relevant disciplines to present and debate the state of knowledge and research in their field. Contributors focus on questions of methodology and evaluation, and explain how particular research designs might answer specific psychotherapy service questions. They set out guidelines for practice by evaluating examples of good research studies. They also consider how inevitable problems in implementation can be anticipated and overcome. The books purpose is to present a guide to the construction and successful execution of well founded research projects, to be used by the research community, purchasers and providers of psychotherapy services, and funding bodies in both public and private sectors.
Papers presented at a symposium honoring Antony Jameson on the occasion of his 60th birthday; the Symposium, entitled Computing the Future: Advances and Prospects for Computational Aerodynamics, was held in Ithaca, New York, November 1994. Recent achievements in the various disciplines which contribute to computational fluid dynamics are discussed, including grid generation and adaptation, finite-volume and finite-element methods, multi-dimensional upwind schemes and multigrid convergence acceleration techniques. Simulations of inviscid and viscous flows are covered for both compressible and incompressible flows, with emphasis on flow control or optimal shape design in fluid mechanics.
