| 概要 | The well-publicized political and economic confrontations in Taiwan turn out to be rather tame compared to those occurring underground. The island straddles the boundary where the Eurasian and Philipp...ne Sea tectonic plates crash head-on, and create thousands of earthquakes a year occur as Earth's crust is pushed down into the underlying mantle. Here geologists contribute to the study of resulting phenomena, emphasizing their three-dimensional architecture, and exploring their spatial and temporal evolution using a variety of techniques.
