Ramoa has obviously thought long and deep about the Sanuma, about the project of ethnography, and about the economic circumstances (the ruthless mining of the Yanomami territory) and attendant immiseration (through epidemics and acts of violence) that have both transmuted Yonomami society and brought these indigenous people to the attention of the whole world.
