| 概要 | Attempts to resolve the question of whether there was social support for the Stalin regime among the Soviet working class during the 1930s. The author focuses on the daily life of Soviet workers in th... factory and the community, arguing that the most significant new trends saw peasants becoming steel workers, housewives becoming auto assembly line workers and machine operators, and youths training en masse rather than in individualized apprenticeships. The practices of the Stalinist regime, he concludes, resulted in a deeply homogenized workforce that was in no position to play the role of the revolutionary proletariat.
