| 概要 | A decidedly erudite postmodern analysis of "subversive" texts in the writings of Kleist and Balzac resurrecting old themes of loss, death, and the writer's relationship to both. Initially presented a... a dissertation at Princeton, the current version still retains its doctoral attributes of an assumed elite audience who understands the currently popular critical language of academia. However, Guenther's readings of both Kleist and Balzac might supply an interested researcher with clues into the historical contexts of the authors, the process of writing itself, and the flimsy alliances made between the concepts of immortality and death.
