Many scholars contend that Aquinas did not read Boethius correctly and did not under...tand him. Through an examination of Thomas' commentaries on two of Boethius' works, McInerny (medieval studies, U. of Notre Dame) shows that Aquinas understood the earlier philosopher and assimilated his ideas.
