| 概要 | Describes what is known about the pre-Roman peoples of the Iberian peninsula; chronicles the Roman conquest as recorded in government and military papers; and surveys life in the province, based on ph...sical remains. The few illustrations are incidental to the text, and seem tacked on; the maps are virtually useless, buried between the bibliography and the index, with places keyed by number to an alphabetical list (making the reader search both the map and the list). However, Curchin (classical studies, U. of Waterloo, Ontario) has done an excellent job of assembling what little evidence there is, and of pointing out where more could be found.
