概要	This two-volume set brings together the key papers that comprise the new political economy of globalization, identifying a competing range of concepts and theories. Higgott (international political ec...nomy, U. of Warwick) and Payne (politics, U. of Sheffield) present 48 articles (dating from 1991 to 2000) that combine the breadth of vision of the classical political economy of the mid-19th century with the analytical advances of 20th century social science, rejecting the old dichotomies between agency and structure and states and markets that fragmented classical political economy into separate disciplines. They also go beyond the limited distinction between critical and problem-solving theory. Volume I identifies a competing range of concepts and theories of globalization, and also considers the role of the state. Volume II explores some of the new forms of governance that are emerging as part of the process of globalization, and reviews the behavior and significance of new transnational actors and the emergency of new norms and policy issues.
