The next chapters are on insects' relationship to the outside world, to ground, water, and plants, and to those of their own group, and to other kinds of insects in terms of predation, parasitism, and defense. Final chapters relate insects to human control and study: medical and veterinary entomology, pest management, and methods of collecting. A glossary is included and most illustrations are bandw drawings. Both authors are associated with the Australian National University at Canberra.
