中古家具再利用の実践 : イギリス西部ブリストル、ソファ・プロジェクトの事例

| 概要 | 本稿では、九州大学総合研究博物館所蔵の明治末期から昭和中期の学校家具コレクションを民間に貸し出し、市民とともに保存する「活用文化財の在野保存」プロジェクト（以下「九大博物館プロジェクト」と略）の準備段階として、海外での家具再利用の先行事例、イギリス西部ブリストル市の団体、「ソファ・プロジェクト(The SOFA Project)」を概観し、その市民向け再利用の仕組みを検討する。不要となった家具を社...会で有効に再活用するという理念において共通する点があるこのソファ・プロジェクトの活動内容を検討し、この例をもとに、九大博物館プロジェクトに参考となる点を指摘する。 The Kyushu University Museum has a collection of furniture of the period from later Meiji to mid-Showa, which was used at the university. The Museum plans a project ‘Open Preservation of Cultural Heritage in Use’, which means that citizens themselves participate in preservation by using it (hereafter ‘The Kyushu University Museum’s project’). As part of the early stage of the project, this essay introduces an example of ‘The SOFA Project’, an organisation of Bristol in West England. In the first part of the essay, an overview of the organisation is given and then its reuse systems are examined. There is a similarity between the SOFA Project and the Kyushu University Museum’s project in the idea of making the best reuse of unused furniture in society. By analysing its operation, the essay concludes with an examination of what can be learnt from the example of the SOFA Project.続きを見る |
