Preparation of a thick film of La0. 6 Sr0.4 CoO3 perovskite-type oxide on a porous substrate of the same oxide was investigated for the development of high performance oxygen semipermeable membrane. D...eposition by the spray pyrolysis or paste painting method gave a rather porous thick film. It was found, however, that a combination of these methods with an acid treatment was effective in improving both the density of the film and the adhesion between the film and the substrate.
