概要: Thirty-three butterfly species were collected in July 1993 from Sebesi and Sebuku Islands, Indonesia.Most of them were identified at the subspecies level, except several lycaenids. Fourteen species(42.4%) out of the 33 have never been recorded from the Krakataus. This proportion is distinctly higher than 4 to 8 (13.3 to 26.7%) of 30 species recorded fromSebesi in 1989. When these data were taken together, the percentage becomes 32.7 to 40.4% (17 to 21 of 52 species recorded from Sebesi-Sebuku). Comparison between Javanese and Sumatran subspecies in the rate of common species on Sebesi-Sebuku and the Krakataus indicates that the Butterfly fauna of the Krakataus have been chiefly derived from Java rather than from Sumatra even thought the 2 stepping-stone islands exist between the Krakataus and Sumatra. 続きを見る

概要: This is the first paper of a series on the taxonomy of Japanese gall midges belonging to the subfamily Lestremiinae (Diptera:Cecidomyiidae). These papers resultessentially from a two year study of this group in forests of Japan between October, 1998, and September , 2000. The general introduction provides information on the group under study, on methods and material studied, and on the natural conditions within the Japanese archipelago in previous and recent times: palaepgepgraphy, zoogeography, climate, and forest vegetation. Part one treats the Japanese species of Pseudoperomyia of the Micromyini. Nine species are treated in depth, each with sections on adult morphology, their systematic position, and their distribution and biology within Japan. Six of these species are described as new to science: Pseudoperomyia composita sp. n., P. Fagiphila sp. n., P.furcillata sp. n., P. hondoensis sp. n., P. japonica sp. n., and P. velata sp. n. The genetic diagnosis supplemented here includes the description of Pseudoperomvia females for the first time. The systematics, zoogeography and biology of Pseudoperomyia are discussed taking into consideration the 28 species known to date. A key to Pseudoperomyia males is given. 続きを見る

概要: The subgenus Oreomelissa of the genus Andrena is revised, and 11 species and 2 subspecies are recognized. Three of them, Andrenafani, A.gangcana and A. flavolateralis are new to science, 2 homonymies, Andrena (Oreomelissa) montana Wu and A (Oreomelissa) nigra Wu are nominated as new names, A. (Oreomelissa) setosifemoralis Wu and A. (Oreomelissa) nigricula Wu, respectively. Four species, A. kamikichiana, A. coitana, A amurensis and A. mitakensis are newly recorded from China. 概要: A systematic study of the subgenus Seladonia Robertson, 1918 of the genus Halictus (Hymenoptera, Apoidea, Halictidae) is made based on material collected from Asia. Until now, 37 species were recorded from Asia. In the oresent study we treat material colleted from a total of 13 countries such as Japan. N. Korea, S. Korea, Mongolia, China, Taiwan, India. 概要: Local species diversity of auchenorrhyncha in Uminonakamichi Seaside Park, Fukuoka was surveyed by a sweeping method. A total of 16 species were collected. To estimate an optimum sampling size, collector's curves of accumulated number of species were illustrated. The mean optimum size was 724.7 times of sweeping. This size was significantly correlated with the number of rarespecies. The lloys's index of each species collected was usually more than I and their spatial distributions were concentrated. The Iwao's overlaping index between collected species was distinctly less than I in any combination of paired species and their spatial distributions did not overlap. To survey effectively, one should move another better site just after collecting a few species. 続きを見る
