概要 Keeping quiet in residences is important for comfortable living environment. Ventilation openings might be a bottleneck of sound insulation capability of exterior walls in the residence. A soundproof ...hood is generally used for sound insulation. The soundproof hood provides excellent sound insulation at high frequencies, but it has a poor effect against middle and low frequencies. In this study, active noise control (ANC) is applied to reduce middle-frequency and low-frequency noise. This paper presents an experimental study of application of an ANC system to a ventilation opening in a pilot residence. The ANC target is road traffic noise, which fluctuates widely in level and frequency characteristics. The experimental results show that the ANC effectiveness in the real-space pilot residence against road traffic noise entering through the opening is greater than 10 dB on average. This result demonstrates that humans can recognize ANC effects by hearing, and that ANC is useful as a sound insulation technique used for wall openings of actual residences.続きを見る
