1) Mercury residues were determined in some fruits, such as pear, apple, fig and grape, and in some vegetables, such as tomato, cucumber and cabbage in the market. The contents ranged from trace to 17.7 μg in 100 g of the fresh fruits and from 2.3 to 25.2 μg in the vegetables. 2) Mercury fungicides solutions containing 20 ppm of mercury were supplied to Luffa (Luffa cylindrica Roemer) and 5.6 to 23.3 μg of mercury were detected in 100 g of the fluids sampled from the stems after 3 days of the supplication. 3) The concentration of mercury in the water and the bottom materials of the Tatara which flows through the east of the city of Fukuoka and empties into the Hakata Bay was measured. Trace to 17.5 μg and 9.8 μg to 121.0 μg of mercury were found in 1 l of the water and in 100 g of the bottom materials, respectively.
