This research aims to clarify the differences in socio-economic characteristics and motivation to go to Japan between Indonesian and Filipino nurse candidates, who were about to leave for Japan under ...the Economic Partnership Agreements signed between Japan and Indonesia/the Philippines. A four-page questionnaire was developed after careful examination of the qualitative data obtained by the authors’ previous interviews with people concerned. The research covers 144 Indonesian nurse candidates and 100 Filipino nurse candidates. The results indicate that Filipino nurse candidates are older (p<0.001), more likely to get married (p<0.001) and have child/children (p<0.001) compared to Indonesian nurse candidates. The former tend to have experiences to work abroad as nurse before they applied for this EPA program (p<0.001), and their motivations to work in Japan are more varied that the latter. The results also indicate that although Japan-Indonesia Economic Partnership Agreement and Japan-Philippines Economic partnership Agreement were designed in the same way, the characteristics and motivations of foreign nurse candidates have varied according to the sending countries.
本研究は､日本・インドネシア経済連携協定および日本・フィリピン経済連携協定に基づいて来日した外国人看護師候補者らの社会経済的属性と来日動機の違いについて､国別の比較を行うことを目的とした｡調査データは､事前の関係者へのインタビュー調査から得られた質的データを吟味したのちに設計した４ページの調査票を配布・回収して得られたものである｡本研究では､144名の来日第２陣のインドネシア人看護師候補者および100名の来日第１陣のフィリピン人看護師候補者らを対象として分析を行っている｡ 調査の結果､フィリピン人はインドネシア人に比べ平均年齢が高く（p＜0.001）､既婚者（p＜0.001） および子供を持っている者（p＜0.001） の割合も高かった｡また､ 枠組に応募する前に看護師として海外出稼ぎ経験をしたことがある者の割合が高く（p＜0.001）､来日動機もインドネシア人に比べてより多岐にわたる傾向があることが明らかになった｡日本・インドネシア経済連携協定および日本・フィリピン経済連携協定は､受け入れ枠組がほとんど共通しているが､その枠内で来日する外国人看護師候補者らの属性は､送出国によって相違点が多いことも､本調査結果から示された｡続きを見る
