| 概要 |
In previous reports published in Vol. 3 of Bulletin of Kyushu University Asia Center (2009), we reported an outline of a survey of attitudes regarding the acceptance of foreign nurses that was conduct...ed at medium- and large-scale hospitals throughout Japan from January to February 2008, and an analysis of the hospitals and the respondents based on attributes. This is a follow-up to that report, and we have studied the regional differences in the survey results regarding the acceptance of foreign nurses. We divided the entire country of Japan into 9 regional blocks to conduct our analysis. Regions with a high proportion of responses stating “We want to employ foreign nurses” included Kanto (excluding Tokyo), Chugoku, and Kansai, whereas regions with a high proportion of responses stating “We do not want to employ foreign nurses” included Shikoku and Tohoku. Regarding reasons for wanting to employ foreign nurses, the most common response provided by hospitals in Hokkaido, Kanto, Tokyo, Chubu, Kansai, and Chugoku was “In order to resolve the shortage of nurses as best as possible”, while the most common responses provided by hospitals in Tohoku, Shikoku, and Kyushu was “In order to cooperate as part of international exchange”. It became clear that attitudes regarding the acceptance of foreign nurses and reasons for wanting to or not wanting to accept foreign nurses differed between regions, and it was believed that these differences reflected the various circumstances of each region, such as the status of shortages of nurses.
筆者は､2008年初頭に日本全国の中規模・大規模病院を対象に実施した外国人看護師受け入れに関する意識調査の概要､および病院および回答者の属性別分析について先に報告済みだが､本稿ではこの調査結果の地域別差異を検討した｡全国を９つの地域ブロックに分類して分析した結果､｢外国人看護師を採用したい｣との回答の割合が高かった地域は関東(東京を除く)､中国､関西で､逆に｢採用したくない｣の回答割合が高かったのは四国､東北であった｡採用してみたい理由としては､北海道､関東､東京､中部､関西､中国では｢看護師不足を少しでも解消したいから｣を挙げた病院の割合が最も高かった一方､東北､四国､九州では｢国際交流の一環として協力したいから｣を理由として挙げた病院の割合が最も高かった｡外国人看護師受け入れに関する考え方､受け入れたい理由､受け入れたくない理由は地域によって異なることが明らかになったが､看護師不足の状況など､地域の様々な事情が反映されていると考えられた｡続きを見る
