They cover digital image processing techniques, basic concepts and applications of tracer kinetic modeling, and radiation dose and safety issues. This edition has a new full color format and online access to graphical animations. It also includes recent advances like single-photon emission computed tomography (SPECT) and positron emission tomography (PET) imaging, a new chapter on hybrid imaging techniques that combine SPECT and PET with computed tomography (CT) and magnetic resonance imaging, and an introduction to CT scanning.
