| 概要 | Postcolonial studies developed largely in the study of literature and is seen as a challenge to hegemonic discourses of power. Hall and Tucker (both of the Department of Tourism, U. of Otago, New Zeal...nd) seek to bring postcolonial studies into the realm of tourism studies and consider what light tourism might shed on postcolonialism itself. They present a 12 essays that approach the topic from a variety of theoretical perspectives, examining such topics as travel discourses in popular magazines, the enunciative value of tourism, European imagery of postcolonial tourism in southern Africa, commodifying heritage in post-apartheid South Africa, and the preservation of colonial space for neocolonial tourism.
