| 概要 | Heidegger is the quintessential philosopher of the post World War I generation. His work was formed by his experiences of the war in Germany. Bowler (philosophy, Michigan Technological University) pro...oses that Heidegger was not simply rejecting the work of the previous generation but reaching back to the work of Aristotle to redefine the purpose of philosophy. Chapters review Heidegger's reaction to Husserl, Natorp and Dilthey before exploring his belief that philosophy must be "constituted in life." It is through an examination of the work of Aristotle that he develops his belief of philosophy as praxis between the word that is and the possibilities of the future.
