| 概要 | This book is primarily concerned with the predictions of future sea-level rise and its possible impacts. It reviews past changes in sea level and their geological, oceanographic and climatological cau...es. New predictions are given of future rises due to oceanic thermal expansion and the melting of glaciers and ice sheets under the influence of increasing greenhouse gas concentrations. Whilst most emphasis is on the next 100 years, long term changes (centuries to millenia) are also considered. Specific case studies explore the possible impact of future rises in sea level in the UK, Bangladesh, The Netherlands, Hong Kong, Egypt, South America and the Missippi Delta in the USA. 続きを見る |
