A social psychological study on the interpersonal dislike feeling

Abstract The purpose of this study was to investigate the dislike feeling which one feel toward specific others. First, interviewed 50 undergraduates (19 men and 31 women) about characteristics of others he or... she disliked. Study conducted a questionnaire survey of 260 undergraduates (133 men and 127 women). The following was findings. (1) The first analysis was the factor analysis about characteristics of others which subjects disliked. 8 factors were picked out dislike toward others which different from subjects, dislike toward others with envy, dislike toward others who have arrogance, dislike toward others who is selfish, dislike toward others who assert extremely, dislike toward others who have similarity, dislike toward appearance of others, and dislike toward way of speaking of others. (2) Inferiority feeling or non-cooperation of subjects influenced characteristics of others he or she disliked. (3) Compared with women, men disliked others who have arrogance and way of speaking of others. Compared with men, women disliked others which different from subjects and disliked others with envy.show more
