Abstract This paper is about "Place". While normal researches consider `places' as phenomenal facts and try to understand them by gathering data about things or events, it is tried in this paper to understand ..."Place" itself ontologically, based on the assumption that Dasein should be understood originally. With the help of Heideggei s way of thinking, phenomenologically and existentially I (the author, as Dasein) analyze experiences, in which I am in "Kinshai-dori" - a shopping mall - and understand it as "my place". Then it is disclosed that I dwell in and melt into the world of the place while coping with various things and events and being-with people. And it is revealed that the phenomenal 'place' is the world, which unfolds with the existential-history that belongs to the transcendental "Earth", and that the sense of "Place" itself is the encounter with "Earth".show more
