This comprehensive study reviews previous research on Engelbert Kaempfer's description of acupuncture and moxibustion and presents for the first time many unpublished notes by Kaempfer on Japanese c...oncepts of disease, disease prevention, drugs and herbs, imported medicaments, medicinal magic, on his interactions with Japanese physicians and analyzes his approach to Japanese etiology.
ケンペルの「廻国奇観」（１６１２年）に見られる鍼灸については医史学者や、ケンペルの研究者などが以前から盛んに論じているが、彼が残した未発表資料の調査は全く行われてこなかった。筆者は大英図書館蔵の資料集ＳＬ３０６２で見つけた資料に基づき総合的な分析および紹介を行なっている。show more
