Dry Matter Yield and Silage Fermentation Quality of Japonica-Indica Hybrid Rice Strains

Abstract In order to find Japonica−lndica hybrid rice strains suitable for both soiling and whole-crop silages ,36 strains were investigated for dry matter yield and silage fermentation quality .Rice plants we...re harvested at the beforeheading stage (Aug .1,first cut of the twice −cut treatment ) and at the yellow-ripe to full-ripe stage,depending on strains (Oct.2,second cut of the twice −cut treatment and first cut of the once-cut treatment).Total dry matter yield calculated from dry matter weight per plant was greater than 2000g/m2 for 2 strains (Areum byo and Milyang #42)in the twiee-cut treatment and for 3 strains 〔Choopoong byo ,Samgang byo and Yushin) ,in the once-cut treatment .Grain yield calculated from grain weight per plant was greater than 1300g /m2 for 2 strains (Choopoong byo and Samgang byo)in the once-cut treatment .Silage with a higher dry matter content showed higher fermentation quality .The silages ensiled at the yellow −ripe to the full−ripe stage had a hjgh V2-SCORE (above 60 points) for 3 strains (Namyeong byo,Taebaek byo and Yongiu byo )in the once-cut treatment .There was a high correlation (p <0.001)between dry matter content of materials and V2−SCORE of there silages .
水出を有効利用した飼料作物生産技術の開発を目的とし,良質飼料イネサイレージの調製・利用法を確立するため,日印交雑イネ36系統を用い1 図刈りおよび2 回刈り時の乾物収量およびサイレージの発酵品質を調査することにより,飼料イネとして利用可能な系統の検索を試みた.2 回刈区1 回目刈取は8 月1 日(出穂前) に行い.株あたり乾物重は5 .3−11.4g の範囲にあった。2 回刈区2 回U の刈取および1 回刈区の刈取は10 月2H (黄熟-完熟期) に行い,株あたり乾物重は,前者で8.6−87.1g ,後者で38.5−103.8g の範囲にあった。2回刈区における株あたり乾物重から算出した合計乾物2000g/m2は を超える系統も存在し.1 回刈区における乾物収量においても2000g/m2を超え,2283g/m2 を示す系統があった。株当たりの籾重から算出した籾収吊において,1300g /m2 を越える系統も存在し,飼料用米としての利用可能性も期待できた。サイレージの発酵品質については,乾物率が高いf直を示すものほど発酵品質も良好なものとなり,V2 −SCORE と乾物率の問に高い正の相関が認められた。
