Abstract Anew apparatus for scattered electron-fragment ion coincidence measurements has been designed and constructed in order to investigate the dissociative autoionization of superexcited molecules. The cor...relation between a scattered electron and fragment ion could be measured under a pulsed field and a static electric field. Dissociative autoionization of N2O was measured to estimate the performance of the new apparatus, and the branching ratio of fragment ions was obtained as N2O+:NO+:N2+:O+=81.6:13.5:4.7:0.2 for a dissociation process which proceeds through a superexcited state at l8.55 eV.show more
